Switching from Mint (discontinued)

  1. Step 1
    Recover your Mint data
If you exported before shutdown, you have a CSV. Otherwise, Credit Karma may have transaction records.
  2. Step 2
    Reconnect your banks
Use Plaid in WIMM to connect each bank fresh.
  3. Step 3
    Import historical CSV
Upload your Mint CSV in WIMM → Import. WIMM auto-detects the column format for major US banks (BofA, Wells Fargo, Chase, Citi, Amex, Capital One, Discover); for Mint exports use the generic CSV importer with manual column mapping (date, description, amount).
  4. Step 4
    Run AI categorization
Re-categorize the import with the AI wizard; correct as needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my old Mint data?

Yes, if you have a CSV export. WIMM auto-detects the column format for major US banks; for Mint's export use the generic CSV importer and map the date, description, and amount columns manually (it takes about 30 seconds).

Is WIMM free like Mint was?

WIMM has a free tier and a paid Premium tier. We don't run ads or sell your data, so paid users fund the work.

Why did Mint shut down?

Intuit consolidated into Credit Karma in early 2024. Many former Mint features were not carried over.

Do I need to reconnect my banks after Mint?

Yes. Mint's data export gave you a CSV of historical transactions, but your bank links don't transfer between apps. Use Plaid in WIMM to relink each bank fresh — most institutions take under a minute.
