The budgets, spending breakdowns, savings goals, and analytics provided by WIMM are informational tools designed to help you understand your spending patterns. They should not be treated as professional financial guidance.

Data Accuracy

Bank Data via Plaid

Transaction data fetched through Plaid is provided by your bank. While we display this data as accurately as possible, we cannot guarantee that it is complete, current, or error-free. Banks may delay transaction reporting, modify transaction descriptions, or have temporary sync issues. Pending transactions may change or be removed by your bank.

WIMM is not responsible for inaccuracies in data provided by your bank or Plaid. If you notice discrepancies, verify the data directly with your bank.

Manually Imported Data

When you import transactions via CSV, Excel, or OFX files, the accuracy of that data depends entirely on the source file. WIMM parses and displays what you upload but cannot verify its correctness.

AI Categorization

WIMM uses AI models (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT-4o, DeepSeek) to automatically categorize your transactions. AI categorization is a best-effort classification based on merchant names and transaction descriptions. It is not perfect.

Specifically:

  • AI may miscategorize transactions, especially for ambiguous merchants
  • Categories assigned by AI should be reviewed by you — do not rely on them blindly for budgeting or tax purposes
  • AI accuracy varies by transaction type and may improve or change over time as models are updated
  • We display an AI confidence score where available, but this score is an estimate, not a guarantee

You can override any AI-assigned category at any time. We encourage you to review categorizations periodically.

Service Availability

WIMM depends on several third-party services to function:

  • Plaid — if Plaid experiences downtime or your bank has connectivity issues, transaction syncing may be delayed or temporarily unavailable
  • AI providers — if Anthropic, OpenAI, or DeepSeek experience outages, AI categorization will be temporarily unavailable. Your transactions will still be stored and can be categorized later.
  • PayPal — license purchases require PayPal availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to WIMM or any of its features. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service outages, whether from our infrastructure or third-party providers.

Budget and Analytics Calculations

Budget tracking, spending analytics, and savings goal calculations are computed from the transaction data in your account. These calculations are only as accurate as the underlying data. If transactions are missing, duplicated, or miscategorized, the resulting analytics will reflect those errors.

WIMM does not guarantee the accuracy of any calculated metric, including but not limited to: monthly spending totals, category breakdowns, budget remaining amounts, or savings progress. Always verify important figures against your bank statements.

Anomaly Detection

WIMM may flag unusual transactions or spending patterns. These alerts are algorithmic and based on your historical data. They are informational only — not fraud detection. If you suspect fraud on your account, contact your bank directly.

Security Limitations

While we implement industry-standard security measures (encryption at rest, scrypt password hashing, 2FA support, data isolation), no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee that your data will never be compromised. You are responsible for:

  • Using a strong, unique password
  • Enabling two-factor authentication
  • Keeping your recovery codes in a safe place
  • Not sharing your credentials with anyone
  • Logging out on shared or public devices

No Warranty

WIMM is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
