What we've shipped
WIMM is in active development. Here's everything we've released.
What's new in WIMM
A curated, user-facing summary of what we've shipped. For the full engineering log, see CHANGELOG.md in the repo.
[Unreleased]
"What's new" right in your sidebar
A new What's new link sits at the bottom of the left sidebar, next to Sign out. It shows the current WIMM version and lights up with a small pulsing dot whenever we ship an update you haven't seen yet. Click it to jump to the changelog (this page) — the dot clears for that device, and stays clear until the next release. No more wondering "did anything change?" — the sidebar will quietly tell you when it has.
Budget Backtest — one-click apply, plus a real Save
The Budget Backtest dialog now makes accepting a recommendation as fast as it looks. The amount box next to "Recommended budget: $X/mo" is pre-filled with the suggestion, so a single click on Apply previews the new score live. When you're ready to commit, the new Save to budget button writes the amount straight to your budget plan — and the change survives a Re-run Backtest. The "(mean + N% buffer)" label is now derived from the same constant the scoring uses, so the copy will always match the math.
[1.1.0] — 2026-06-02
Auto-import your debts (Premium)
- Sync from bank: connect your bank once via the Debt page's Setup tab and pull your current mortgage, credit card, auto loan, student loan, HELOC, and personal loan balances in one step. Balances, rates, and minimum payments come straight from your bank — no manual entry needed. Refresh any time with a single tap. Unlink a connection and your local debt record stays intact.
- Upload a statement PDF: have a lender statement handy? Upload a PDF, PNG, or JPEG (up to 10 MB) and WIMM's AI reads the document and pre-fills the debt details for you. A review modal lets you confirm or correct any field before saving. Your file is never stored — it's discarded immediately after extraction.
- Escrow-aware for mortgages: when WIMM can determine your escrow split (taxes, insurance, HOA, PMI) it fills it in automatically so your payoff projections are accurate from day one. When it can't, an amber badge on the debt card nudges you to confirm — one edit and the badge clears.
- Both paths are Premium features.
Try Premium free
- 14-day Premium trial: try every Premium feature for two weeks. No card required. Sign up at
app.wimm.money/signup?trial=14and you start on Premium — Plaid sync, AI categorization, household sharing, and email notifications all active. On day 15 we revert your account to Free; all your transactions, categories, budgets, goals, and envelopes stay exactly as they were.
Mortgage payoff projections now respect your escrow
If your monthly mortgage payment includes property taxes, insurance, HOA, or PMI, you can now split that out from your principal & interest when adding or editing a mortgage (or HELOC). The Debt Reducer's payoff projections, amortization schedule, and strategy comparisons use the P&I portion only — so your timeline matches what your lender shows. Existing mortgages are unchanged until you edit them. Available for mortgage and HELOC debt types.
Debt Reducer
Pay off debt strategically with avalanche, snowball, or hybrid strategies — and see exactly when you'll be debt-free.
- Plan tab: assign your active strategy, set an extra monthly payment, and watch the projected payoff date update live. Save scenarios (Premium) to compare what-ifs side by side.
- Pay-off-by-date solver: pick a target month, and WIMM tells you the extra monthly payment needed to get there. Works for all debts or a single debt.
- Three strategies, side by side: avalanche, snowball, and minimum-only baseline charted together so you can see how much each strategy saves you in interest and time.
- What-If sliders: try extra monthly payments, lump sums, and income increases. Every panel — countdown, chart, metrics — updates in real time.
- Action plan: WIMM tells you which debt to attack this month, why, the projected payoff date, and the rollover hint when it pays off.
- Bulk-convert bills to debts: a guided wizard turns eligible bills into debt entries with starting balances, APRs, and minimum payments pre-filled.
- APR estimation: paste in statement data (balance, interest charged, minimum payment) and WIMM reverse-engineers the rate.
- AI strategy advice (Premium): get tailored payoff guidance and negotiation talking points for high-rate cards.
- Household sharing (Premium): share specific debts with household members.
- Unpayable-debt detection: when a debt's minimum payment can't cover its monthly interest, WIMM flags it instead of silently projecting an infinite payoff date.
Envelope Budgeting
YNAB-style envelope budgeting with a "Ready to Assign" pool, move-between, and roll-over — no $109/year price tag.
- Ready-to-Assign pool: income lands in a single pool until you assign it. At a glance you know how much is unassigned.
- Assign / Move money: assign income to envelopes; move money between envelopes mid-month when life happens. Full audit log.
- Fill from paycheck: split a paycheck across envelopes in one dialog.
- Month-start refill: optional auto-fill at the start of each month based on your targets.
- Sinking funds + bill envelopes: irregular expenses (Christmas, car insurance, vacation) get their own envelopes and roll over.
- AI Fill (Premium): WIMM suggests envelope amounts based on your last 3 months of spending. Review and tweak before applying.
- Shared household envelopes (Premium): joint envelopes for rent, groceries, kids — each household member sees real-time balances.
- Compare: side-by-side comparison of WIMM vs YNAB and others is now on
/compareand/vs/{ynab,mint,monarch}.
Categories & Transactions
- Unified category tree: drag-and-drop reorganization on
/settings/categories. Custom and system categories merged into a single hierarchy. - Smart category picker: hierarchical tree, searchable, with icons — replaces flat dropdowns across the app.
- Right-click recategorize: right-click any category badge on
/transactionsto change the category in place, without opening the detail drawer. - Smarter syncing: changing a transaction's category now propagates to linked Bill and Debt records, not just one of them.
- "All from this merchant" rename: rename a merchant once and the change applies to bills, debts, recurring entries, and historical transactions in one shot.
Bills
- Bill ↔ Debt linking: marking a bill paid now auto-records a payment against the linked debt. Symmetric: undoing a bill payment restores the debt balance.
- Link existing debt to a bill: the Track-as-debt button on a Bill can now attach an existing debt, not just create a new one.
- Hybrid strategy in chart: the Payoff Timeline chart now includes the Hybrid strategy as a selectable series.
Mobile & accessibility
- Mobile responsiveness pass: cards, tables, dialogs, and chart sizing now work cleanly down to 360px-wide screens. Action buttons that were hover-only on desktop are visible on touch.
- Mobile bottom padding: prevents content from being cut off by mobile browser chrome.
- Tab state preservation: switching tabs (e.g. on
/debt) no longer resets your inputs or selections. - Smart Budget Wizard fits on phones: the step indicator at the top of the wizard (
Profile → Analyze → Review → Done) no longer cuts off the last step on narrow screens. On mobile you'll see "Step N of M — [Current Step]" above the dots; on tablet and up the full labeled stepper returns.
Bug fixes
- Copy budgets from last month now works: clicking "Copy from last month" on
/budgetspreviously could say "No new budgets to copy — all categories already exist in the target month" even when the current month was empty. Affected users west of UTC (any US/Americas timezone) whose budgets were created before the May timezone fix. The copy action now uses your timezone correctly for both the source and target month boundaries.
Power-user features
- Privacy blur (
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + H): blurs every amount on the page for screen sharing and screenshots. Hover lifts the blur per-element. Preference persists. - Math in currency inputs: type
=12.99 * 4 + 5.50in any amount field and WIMM evaluates the expression on blur. - Command palette (
Ctrl/Cmd + K): fuzzy search every page and quick action. - Keyboard shortcuts cheatsheet (
?): modal listing every global shortcut. - Gmail-style two-key navigation: press
gthen a single letter to jump to any top-level page (g dDashboard,g tTransactions,g bBudgets, etc.).
Security
- Trusted device for 2FA: "Remember this device for 30 days" checkbox on the 2FA verify page skips the second factor on devices you trust. Revoked automatically on password change or 2FA disable. Available on both the web app and the admin portal.
